Dublin Demo in Support of Afghan Hunger Strikers

On Wednesday April 25th there will be a protest in support of the Afghan Hunger strikers outside Dail Eireann @ 12.30pm called by Residents Against Racism The hunger strikers are protesting because it has been a year since the cathedral and there has been no progress in any of their cases some have been here for many years and have been turned down by the Minister for Justice Michael Mc Dowell.

The Afghan Hunger strike displayed many problems within our immigration and asylum system and how draconian and inefficient the system is - Asylum seekers live in desperate situations and accommodation is dire, they are denied the right to work and study and forced to live on €19 per week for many years and suffer mental problems. The Afghani's want the right to work, study, a right to a fair hearing and to be treated with dignity.

Residents Against Racism are calling for supporters to come on Wednesday and support the guys they feel isolated and want support this week so please come out and offer solidarity.
